We’re excited to highlight Sean, Partnerships Associate here at ResultsLab.

Sean’s background is in sales and includes work with Chicago-based firm International Sports Management. Sean also has volunteer experience with Lifesong for Orphans, Feed My Starving Children, and Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in communication, both from Aurora University where he was also a member of the men’s lacrosse team

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in evaluation and data use?

Early in my career, working as a coach and director of recruiting/operations, I was fascinated by trying to find patterns within data that I could then evaluate and turn those findings into taking some productive action for my organization. Once I found a place where I could help organizations better understand their data to help further serve their communities, I knew it was a great fit.

Q: How have the roles you’ve held in the past contributed to how you work now?

In my time as a national account executive, I learned how to effectively research, prospect/generate new business leads, execute outbound sales efforts, and manage existing client relationships

Q: What’s your favorite quote/mantra?

“They don’t care how much you know, unless they know how much you care.”

Q: Who would you most like to swap places with for the day?

Lebron James

Q: What are your top 3 favorite podcasts/books/blogs to follow?
  1. The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani
  2. Always College Football – ESPN
  3. Pod Save America
Q: What is something people in your industry/niche have to deal with that you want to fix?

In my role, I want to help get the word out to organizations about the incredible work that we do at ResultsLab. A problem that I see is that the average organization probably does not have an in-house data expert that helps them leverage their data in a way that can be shaped into useful and sustainable action for the communities they wish to serve. I want to help offer a solution to organizations that wish to make more sense of their data and then use it for positive outcomes.

Q: What are your hobbies?

Hiking, skiing, camping, fishing, and playing sports.

Q: Tell us something we didn’t know about you?

I love to cook! Cooking brings me a tremendous sense of peace and I love going through the whole process of making a new meal that requires many steps.

Thank you, Sean, for letting us pick your brain and get to know you better. Be on the lookout for our other ResultsLab teammate features in the upcoming months, and be sure to follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn.
